OK... it was a little while ago but PantherSounds dropped by Dave Foxx's studio in the Z100 mothership building to present a special version of Orange Panther - part 3.
Just in case you haven't seen the video before we wanted to share some images of the visit with you. And we hope you don't mind that we through in a shameless plug for our product while we were at it.
The Orange Panther series started in 2003 with the intention of becoming a 10 part library series on CD. As of the summer of 2010 Orange Panther is shifting gears significantly by delivering all new material via an online database.

It is a sound to behold... the growl of the illustrious Royal Panther is currently shaking up the BBC Yalding House, home of BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.

PANTHERSOUNDS was invited in to start producing an fx and music package for exclusive use on Radio 1 and 1Xtra. The resulting custom collection of sounds consists of more than 250 elements that were produced in close collaboration with BBC Radio 1.
Royal Panther consists of hard-hitting, punchy sound effects, musical idents and special musical tension builds. Half of the material was designed to be used on 1Xtra, the other half for use on Radio 1. The Panther production team worked hard on getting sonics that are specific for each station but share a common feel, linking the 2 stations to the mother company.

There are many ways to give your radio station a distinctive 'face'. The DJs, the music, your station voice-over... they make your station sound a certain way.
But there are stations that go into a lot more detail to make literally every important element completely their own. And for those stations we have come up with PANTHERSOUNDS Custom DNA.

How does PantherSounds Custom DNA work?
We discuss with both Imaging and Program Director how we can produce elements that can help give a station a rock solid image.
In the case of Studio Brussel... they only needed elements for promos and sweepers. The PANTHERSOUNDS team focussed on producing mainly heavy impacts and transition / starter elements. The main challenge was to make sound effects that mix electronic parts with more analogue / organic elements.
Urban / CHR station FunX in the Netherlands was looking for material to closely match the broad variety of sounds on the station's playlist. For FunX the PANTHERSOUNDS producers listened to a lot of unusual music from Africa, the Caribbean and Asia to find ideas and elements for the use in sound effects. We also produced music beds and drones that are very specifically tailored to the station's needs.

Because you’ve started late since you didn't really feel like producing sleigh bell sweepers during summer? Or because it is tedious to dig through mountains of material that will make your Christmas imaging sound stale and outdated?
So... that was the build-up... now...drum roll... ratatatatatatata...
Well, to be honest, if you hate sleigh bells and ho ho ho-ing Santa’s there won’t be anything to convince you that Christmas imaging isn’t a pain. PantherSounds can only offer something to make the experience a little (to a lot) more enjoyable.
